September 1, 1997 - March 20, 2005
Silver was never intended to be my foundation bitch. She was bought just to have some fun with and I never intended on
breeding her. I had tried several different directions in roughs and always ended up with heartbreaks and not getting what I
wanted.  I took a chance and bred Silver to Ch. Twin Acres Dark And Dashing.  This litter resulted in L'gacy Great
Expectations and L'gacy Leather 'N Lace.  It was through this breeding that all L'gacy bred collies descend from.  Silver's
second breeding was to her sable merle grandson out of L'gacy Great Expectations.  This breeding produced Ch. L'gacy Bare
Naked Lady and her pointed sister L'gacy It's A Wonderful Life.  Silver's third litter was again out of a grandson.  This time
she was bred to Ch. Cherann's Milestone, a son of L'gacy Leather 'N Lace, this litter produced Ch. L'gacy Romancing The
Stone.  Silver's fourth and final litter was out of Ch. L'gacy Start The Fire and they are now making their show debut.
Sizzle, L'gacy Barmour Start The Fire went BW for her first point and her first show under Arly Hussin.  She looks very
promising and may be the best yet out of Silver.

Silver also taught me a lesson.  A true foundation bitch isn't always the one with the big show wins.  A true foundation
bitch is a healthy collie who is a wonderful mother, consistantly produces better than herself, and has healthy strong
puppies that grow into healthy adults.  As I look at the pedigree of my new pups, they go back to Silver several times on
the dam side.  I expect this trend to continue for generations to come.

Silver's time was so short but her impact was great.  We lost Silver after a severe uterine infection that ultimately ruptured
her uterus.  She fought for several days but in the end we knew it was time that she needed to go.
